Cliftonville Community Regeneration Forum is planning for a community enterprise centre at an interface, beside the Girdwood site. The enterprise aims to support local people intotraining and employment and reduce economic inactivity in the area.
The Cliftonville community especially in the lower Cliftonville area is very deprived. The area is part of the Waterworks ward which, according to NI Statistics and Research Agency, is now the No.1 most deprived ward in the Northout of 462 wards.
Our primary focus is on:
The proposal is to builda 6,500-foot enterprise centre on Cliftonpark Avenue. The enterprise will comprise a two-story building fronting onto Cliftonpark Avenue and 8 workspace units at the rear of the facility. The two-story building will be used as a childcare facility. The 8 workspace units to the rea of the building are designed for training, micro-enterprises and business incubation units. Although we are focused on the long term to increase economic activity within the area, we are also realistic enough to know that the workspace units will need to have paying business tenants to support and sustain our work in the short and medium term.
